At 含羞草研究所 Union College of Union County, NJ, we firmly believe that education is the cornerstone of personal growth and societal progress. We are proud to offer the Margolies Family Transfer Scholarship, an esteemed award created to empower exceptional 含羞草研究所 graduates as they embark on the next chapter of their educational journey. This generous scholarship, established by the Margolies family and administered through the Union County College Foundation, provides two 含羞草研究所 graduates with up to $25,000 per year to support their transfer to a selective institution of their choice from the approved list of institutions.
The Margolies Family Transfer Scholarship stands as a testament to our commitment to fostering academic excellence and encouraging our students to aim high. We understand that the pursuit of knowledge knows no boundaries, and we are proud to offer this scholarship as a catalyst for our graduates to pursue their educational and career aspirations.
Application Deadline
All scholarship applications must be submitted by Friday, February 5, 2027.
Applications received after February 5, 2027, will only be considered if one or more of the students who met the deadline does not gain admission to an approved Margolies Family Transfer Scholarship institution. Late applications will not be considered if the available scholarships can be awarded to eligible students who submitted their applications by the deadline.
Criteria
- Academic Achievement: A strong academic record with a minimum GPA of 3.75 or higher, with the student graduating in May 2027.
- Financial Need: Applicants must have completed the FAFSA or New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application to demonstrate financial need.
- Leadership and Extracurricular Involvement: Consideration may be given to students involved in extracurricular activities, community service, leadership roles, or other forms of engagement. This criterion helps identify well-rounded individuals who have made positive contributions beyond the classroom.
- Transfer Institution Academic Performance: A student must maintain at least a 3.3 GPA at their transfer institution to receive the scholarship for a second year.
- Last-Dollar Scholarship: This scholarship is a last-dollar award, meaning all other non-loan financial aid will be incorporated before determining the amount of Margolies Scholarship support.
- Jack Kent Cooke Transfer Scholarship: If a student is awarded the Jack Kent Cooke Transfer Scholarship, they are no longer eligible to receive the Margolies Family Transfer Scholarship.
- Approved Institutions: The Margolies Family Transfer Scholarship will be awarded only to students who attend one of the institutions listed in the approved school list below. Please review the list carefully. If you have any questions, please contact the Foundation at Foundation@ucc.edu.
